It all began the summer of 1989 in a place called Glenview, Illinois. This suburb of Chicago was the setting for an event called Dialogue, a gathering which brought together Redemptorists and young adults from across North America.  Simply, the goal of the gathering was to get to know each other and discuss ways in which Redemptorists could better respond to the needs of young adults, and how young adults could respond to the needs of Redemptorists.

Dialogue '89 served as inspiration for the Redemptorists of the Yorkton Province to hold their own gathering.  In 1990, at Roblin, Manitoba, Canada, 30 Young Adults (18-33 years old) and 16 Redemptorists from the Yorkton Province gathered to discuss their commitments and dreams for the Ukrainian Catholic Church.  This gathering, along with subsequent Dialogues that have since followed (St. Louis, U.S.A. 1991, Roblin, Manitoba, Canada 1995, Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre 1996, Esopus, NY 2001, Ancaster, ON 2006), have motivated the Redemptorists of the Yorkton Province to commit themselves to developing several new ministries in collaboration with Young Adults.
