September 26th, 2006 marked the 100th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Redemptorists in Canada. A week of celebratory activities in Yorkton began with a 4-day mission. Preaching the mission were: Fr. John Sianchuk, C.Ss.R. (Yorkton Province), Fr. Maurice Nutt, C.Ss.R. (Denver Province), Fr. Denis Morand, C.Ss.R. (Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré Province) and Fr. Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R. (Edmonton-Toronto Province). Delivering the homily for the Pontifical Divine Liturgy was Fr. Jacek Dembek, C.Ss.R. from the General Government in Rome. The celebrations continued after the Liturgy at St. Mary’s Cultural Center for the centenary banquet.

Throughout the week, Redemptorists visited the local schools, they hosted families at the local waterpark, visited the gravesites of Fr. Henrich Boels and Fr. Achilles Delaere and spent plenty of time visiting with other clergy and confreres and parishioners who came from near and far to celebrate their 100 years of history with them.

The closing of the 100th anniversary will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba in September of 2007.
